HELP IN ANYWAY…

July 30th, 2009
This is a repost from Sana’s blog.. I know Queenie personally because she is my sister’s friend. What they went through is not fair. I am reposting this in the hope that some US readers of this post can help them, in anyway…

The incident happened a long time ago— May 25, 2006 but until now, the Velasco family still needs help to clear out their names. Right now they can’t find decent jobs because of the case they were NEVER convicted with prior to the pediatrician’s findings. Allan and Queenie Velasco were arrested and charged with child neglect for not seeking immediate attention for their child’s minor injury. Queenie was arrested at the hospital where they took Carmela, their child, and Allan was dragged out of their Jersey City home with the full view of the neighbors – dragged out and cuffed without a chance to wear shoes or jacket, and wasn’t given a chance to get his cellphone or wallet.

Here’s pictures of Mela way before the incident:

PAYINGPOST.COM UPDATE

July 24th, 2009
This post is a copy from the one I originally posted at my main blog. I just want to share this information to my followers on this blog… This is a serious matter that you have to know to be protected.

Here is an update about payingpost.com and its modus operandi. As of today, I still have not received the $191.00 they owe me for all my approved posts, which have been due months ago… Notice the print screen above? They have moved the payment date again to August 1, 2009 – which I doubt would ever be made…

The print screen here is from my email, a copy sent by paypal to notify me that payingpost have cancelled the billing I sent for them to pay me the amount they owe…

COLLECTING GOLD

July 23rd, 2009
People have varied interests. People have varied hobbies and how they spend their pastime depends on how much they want to pursue their current activities. Of course, with the notion of what they can get out of the experience. There is a new hobby that I find really interesting, not for me though, but for a few people I know. My friend’s dad is collecting gold in all forms, shapes and sizes. They even come from different countries they have been. Well, his dad is a seaman and technically, he has had lots of experience with gold. In fact, it is in his very travel that he buys each piece in his collection. Most of what we have seen are in coin form and others are still in their raw form. Beautiful pieces, I should say—

Anyway, I have searched more about gold coins collection since it is prevalent rather than the raw materials. I found out that there are lots and lots of companies selling them online. One particular company, Monex Deposit Company (MDC) is a good place to purchase silver, gold or other precious metals and coins for immediate personal delivery. You can also arrange for convenient and safe storage at an independent bank or depository should you want them in safekeeping right after purchasing them. It says that this company have been in the business for over 30 years, and have grown because of their market. The said Monex companies have been America’s gold, silver and precious metals investment leader, and it is well trusted. In fact, American eagle gold coins are available in units of 10 one-ounce coins for personal delivery(only). It is made from .9167 fine gold. Also, legal tender coins in the USA with a $50 face value are available for personal delivery only in fractional sizes of ounce, ounce and 1/10 ounce, in units of 20 coins each. One can be assured of quality as Monex Precious Metals have a large and dedicated staff of hard asset professionals committed to serving your precious metals investment needs and being America’s best dealer with a convenient market and competitive precious metals prices.

GIFTS TO GIVE

July 22nd, 2009
Who would ever imagine that gift giving is as easy as 1 2 3 or A B C these days… With technology and all, we can now buy gifts and have them delivered with just a few clicks here and there. Such was my amazement when I saw that anyone can order a towel wrap even if he lives in UK and have it sent in the US and vice versa, or order a laundry bag while traveling and have it delivered right to your home address, or place an order for a nap mat and you are doing it on a train, while typing in the exact address of where you wish to have it sent, hassle free—

With the onset of technology, everything is within reach, even the art of gift giving… There is nothing that we can not do anymore. And there is nothing that we could not find online. But with my favorite gift shop, here is one thing that I truly admire in them. When you place an order, you are not actually buying something that is “common” since everything in the shop is personalized… So even if it was just an easy buy online, it will still be a special present…

4 WAYS TO COMBAT INFLUENZA AH1N1

July 16th, 2009
Updated July 22, 2009—-

Today, Lifetime Study center issued an announcement that classes will be suspended starting tomorrow and will resume August 3, 2009 in view of the threat of infection from Influenza A or H1N1. Lourdes College and Xavier University have already suspended classes due to the fact that some students and teachers were found to be positive with AH1N1. Other schools also found to be positive are Corpus Christi School, Pilgrim Christian College and some public schools.

Here are 4 ways to combat the said pandemic…

  1. KEEP YOUR HAND CLEAN
  2. BUILD BODY’S RESISTANCE
  3. BE MINDFUL OF OTHERS
  4. KEEP AWAY FROM SICK PEOPLE

In keeping the hands clean, of course, proper hand washing is required. Nursing students have mastered this, lol… Use a good germicidal soap and clean water. If hand washing is impossible, use alcohol-based hand sanitizers…

In building the body’s resistance, it is as easy as eating the proper (nutritious) meals a day, sleeping at least 8 hours daily, avoid stress, drink plenty of fluids (water and juices). In other words, practicing good health habits….

Being mindful of others is as easy as acknowledging that you may be able to infect other people when you get sick thus, self quarantine is a good way of showing that you care about others not to be infected by YOU… Or at least, cover your mouth to avoid mucous spillage and spits…

Lastly, it is but understood that since AH1N1 has already become a pandemic, we should avoid sick people to keep from being infected also…
